Lots of exciting things are starting to happen! We’ve almost completed on our flat!!! And have already chosen AND purchased our kitchen appliances – is this jinxing things? Not that jinxing exists, but, you know, wouldn’t want to do it, just in case.
We’ve had to guess the date for delivery, whilst assuming (and crossing our fingers) that we can arrange a later delivery if needed.
We’ve been renting together for almost nice years and boy it’s going to feel nice to have a place to finally call our own, and paint the walls what ever colour we want. As we have rented for so long, we have built up our collection of furniture yet never had to buy kitchen appliances, so we’re starting from scratch. We do have a few ideas about what we do and do want though.
The flat we currently rent, where we have lived for five years, has a Smeg fridge freezer in a bright pillar box red. It is one of the iconic 1950s versions and there is no denying it looks great, I’m just not sure what it offers in terms of functionality for the price. The freezer frosts up quite regularly and the storage capabilities are limited. Now I have realised you can store jars in a freezer, I really want shelves to organise them on.
They do look really, really great though…
When choosing our fridge, we decided we wanted an America style fridge-freezer as they have great storage capacity, especially in the doors (for the all important jars!) and are frost-free.
The chosen one
Of all the ones we looked at, we chose a Kenwood KSBSB17 American-Style Fridge Freezer as it came highly recommended by Which magazine. It is energy efficient, can apparently fit in 14 supermarket bags worth of shopping, keeps food fresher for longer, chilling very quickly keeping heat-loving bacteria at bay.
With such large storage capacity, I wonder how many bottles of wine i can fit in?! Talking of wine, this Miele integrated wine cabinet is on the lottery win dream wish-list
